162 Companies Rewarded for Renovating Decrepit Houses of National Meritorious Persons 2006.07.03 1757
On the occasion of remembrance month, the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs (MPVA) held a ceremony to reward construction companies for renovating decrepit houses of patriots and veterans and to provide disadvantaged veterans with house rent money on June 28th. The ceremony was co-hosted by Korea Housing Guarantee Corporation and the Korea Housing Builders Association.

At the thirteenth annual ceremony, 77 construction companies were rewarded government prizes and the MPVA's official commendations and appreciation plagues. CEO Baek, Uk-jin of Shinwoo Development Company was received Industrial Service Medal. Shinwoo has been participating in the housing renovation for unprivileged veterans project for eight years.

Korea Housing Guarantee Corporation has provided 623 veteran households with 1.8 billion KRW for renting houses since 1995. This year, 34 disadvantaged patriots and veterans households were given 3 million KRW each.

Since 1994, 777 member companies of the Korea Housing Builders Association have repaired 804 houses for persons of merit and their bereaved families as a means to return their corporate profits to the community.
