The Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs strives to encourage a society where citizens will honor and respect those who have made sacrifices and contributions to our nation.

Men and women who made great contributions are recognized through the award of decorations and certificates.

Those who fought to protect our national sovereignty against Japanese occupiers are given compensation, medals and citations.

Meritorious persons such as service members and police officers killed or wounded in action or while on duty, and meritorious war veterans are awarded certificates and badges that recognize their service to the nation.

We also carry out many projects to honor and commemorate those who contributed to the democratization of Korea.
