Fifty-one Bereaved Family Members of the Korean War Fallen invited to Korea from 21 to 26 May 2016

The Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs invited 51 families of 22 service men who were killed in action or listed as missing in action during the Korea War, to console the sorrow and grief the families have suffered for more than 60 years.

The Korean Government and Korean People also expressed the country’ s gratitude to those who fell in the war or are still listed as missing in action.

The sons, daughters, siblings, nieces and nephews stayed in Korea from 21 May to 26 May 2016. During their stay, they were guests of honor at a commemoration ceremony held on 23 May at  the Monument Dedicated to United States Forces in the Korean War, which is locate in Pyeonghoa-Nuri, Imjingak.

They were given the opportunity to pay personal tribute to those who fell or are listed as missing in action. The group was also provided with tours and meetings to show them the remarkable development of the Republic of Korea that was made possible by the sacrifices of their loved ones.
