Former Prime Minister of Britain, John Major who came to Korea to attend the Global Economy & Finance Conference 2010 hosted by Hankyung TV visited the hotel where British Korean War veterans were staying and met with them. These British veterans who participated in the Korean War 60 years ago to defend Korea’s freedom and peace were invited by the Korean Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs (MPVA) as part of the Revisit Korean Program. Including British veterans, a total of 216 British Commonwealth arrived in Korea on April 12 and had an opportunity to witness the development Korea has made since they left.

As British participants’ return to their home country delayed due to Iceland volcano eruption while other veterans from Canada, Australia and New Zealand departed on time, Prime Minister Major expressed his gratitude to the MPVA and the Korean government for their efforts to mitigate inconveniences facing British veterans and their family members.
