◆ Ambassadors of 21 UN allied countries were invited to the briefing
◆ Long-term cooperative partnership expected to be forged

The 60th Anniversary of the Korean War Commemoration Committee held the presentation
on various activities and events to be held in 2010 aimed at commemorating the 60th anniversary of the Korean War.

The presentation took place on December 7, 3 PM at Seoul Plaza Hotel in Seoul.
This briefing served as an effective venue for promoting understanding
of commemorative projects of the Korean War among ambassadors and military officers
from 21 UN allied nations.

The presentation headed by Minister Kim Yang was attended by about 50 people
including ambassadors and military officers from 21 UN allied countries, USFK officials,
and officials from the Commemoration Committee, the Defense Department and the MPVA.

Minister Kim provided detailed explanation on 41 Korean War commemoration projects such as thank-you events planned to be held in UN allied countries and the Revisit Korea Program for Korean War veterans.
During the presentation, Minister Kim shared ways with participants on how to effectively co-host the commemoration events with governments which took part in the Korean War.

A wide range of commemorative activities are designed to instill patriotism and the value of democracy and peace in post-war generation while paying respect and expressing deep gratitude to Korean War veterans of 21 countries and its people.
On top of that, these commemoration programs allow us to introduce today`s Korea, which has risen from the ashes of war to become one of the world`s economic powers.
