Government delegation pays a consolatory visit to Korean Troops in Zaytun, Iraq

The delegation of the Korean Government headed by Park Yu Chul, Minister of Patriots and Veterans Affairs, visited on Dec. 27 the Zaytun Unit in the northern Iraqi town of Arbil and Daiman Unit in Kuwait in charge of transporting supplies from Kuwait to Korean forces stationed in Arbil and delivered consolation money and gifts, enhancing the morale of the 3,600 Korean service members.

The delegation made the visit despite the threat of terrorism in an attempt to encourage the dispatched service members who have been carrying out their mission to restore peace and rebuild the war-torn country. The delegation comprised of the minister of patriots and veterans affairs and 10 working level officials from relevant ministries including the Ministry of Defence.
